Infrared Sauna

Infrared light is part of the sun's invisible spectrum that has the ability to penetrate human tissue. Infrared heater technology heats the body directly, like sunbathing, but is known to be safe and not burn your skin.

Because Far infrared saunas increase the body's core temperature, it is believed that the body rids itself of toxins through a deeper sweat. Detoxification can include the release of heavy metals such as mercury, lead and aluminum; environmental poisons such as pesticides, gasoline and industrial chemicals; and alcohol, nicotine and other drugs. Because the body sweats more at temperatures 60-80 degrees lower than conventional saunas, the detoxification is believed to be 7 to 10 times greater.

Medical studies on infrared have demonstrated significantly lower blood pressure and increased blood flow. Far infrared saunas can also provide relief to patients suffering from arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and certain skin conditions.

Heating the body powerfully can shunt blood toward the skin to dissipate heat. This can decongest the internal organs and can stimulate circulation. Sinuses, joints, and many other tissues may recieve significant benefit. Raising body temperatures can powerfully assist the body to kill bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses. Chronic infections in areas like the sinuses, eyes or bladder may clear up.

There are some individuals for whom a Far infrared sauna experience is not appropriate. Please consult our staff before scheduling an appointment.
