We are a family and team at In Harmony. We have a love for people and helping those we care about feel healthier in their everyday lives. In Harmony offers services that we believe are basic to detoxifying the body and rejuvenating energy as well as getting your health in balance.
I am an RN with a background in Oncology. I witnessed first hand how sick the body can become, but at the same time I saw how patients who practiced some holistic approaches responded better to the treatment and had fewer side effects. My experience with my family's and my own health convinced me of the need for proper nutrition and how a body must be detoxified, especially through a clean colon, before it can heal. I returned to school, furthering my education as a Nutritional Consultant and Colon Therapist at the Global Institute of Integrative Medicine and the Cayce Riley School of Massage and Colon Therapy. This is truly a passion for me, a calling. My goal is to inspire people to never take their health for granted. In addition to owning In Harmony, I am the primary colon therapist. At In Harmony we believe that when the body is detoxified, a state of wellness and balance can be restored.

Elizabeth has practiced massage for 8 years. She has a degree in Clinical Psychology and worked with the mind before deciding to work with the body. She earned her LMT license and did an additional 200 hour certification in Neuromuscular/Deep Tissue Therapy through Edmund Morgan School of Neuromuscular Massage in North Carolina. She has lectured on the benefits of massage and cancer at St. Thomas and has long understood how the body and mind work together to create health, harmony, and the overall joy of living. She practices Traditional Thai Massage that follows the acupressure lines on the body, along with deep yoga-type stretches. She is a one on one Yoga Teacher, Reiki Practitioner, and a Certified Transitional Life Coach.
She specializes in coaching major transitions in life that she herself have experienced. Mainly woman going through a divorce, co-parenting with your ex-spouse, and people that have experienced Gastric Bypass. The rapid and extreme weight loss doesn't always catch up to the mind and she helps people find a way to empower and love themselves from the inside out through her coaching. She understands that dis-ease begins in the more subtle energy fields and works it's way into the physical unless it is stopped before becoming part of the body. Her goal is to help people get back in touch with their own true self so that they can begin to listen and intuitively understand specifically what their body and mind need to heal on its own.

Tracy is a licensed Physical Therapist with over 30 years of experience. She recently became a certified yoga teacher as well as an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor. Her treatment approach emphasizes a healthy lifestyle utilizing proper posture, tailored yoga/movement programs and healthy diet individualized for each clients particular needs within a truly holistic framework .
With her unique blend of training in the disciplines of Physical Therapy, Yoga and Ayurvedic Medicine, she practices a form of rehabilitation therapy known as PhysiYoga. This newly emerging practice combines the ancient art and science of Yoga and Physical Therapy for an integrative and effective approach to pain relief and improved wellbeing.
PhysiYoga is the merging of physical therapy principles with yoga. It is the practical application of applied anatomy, biomechanics, physiology and kinesiology into a yoga practice. It differs from traditional physical therapy because it uses the holistic approaches of yoga therapy, and a model of empowerment that encourages clients to be actively involved in creating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
As the sister science to yoga, Ayurveda is considered one of the oldest healing sciences, originating in India at least 5000 years ago. It's name is a Sanskrit word that literally translates as "the wisdom of life". Ayurveda medicine views health as much more than the absence of disease as it centers on understanding a person's unique constitution, or prakriti. It teaches that we, and the world itself, are made up of five elements: earth, air, fire, water and space. It then places these elements into three main energies called doshas: Vata (air and space), Pitta (fire and water) and Kapha (earth and water).
I see adults who typically come in with anxiety and/or depression for counseling in Nashville. If I had to name just one specialty, it would be anxiety. Most people suffer some form of it at some point in their lives. When left untreated, it can lead to more severe symptoms and a whole host of diagnoses. There are times in our lives when we feel like things aren't working, but we're not sure what to do. You may feel like you've done everything you know to do, but nothing is changing. This is the time when psychotherapy can be a great alternative to your current patterns of reacting to the world.
If asked about my theory of choice, it's Cognitive Behavioral. I will talk to you about your beliefs, expectations, and how you experience the world. I'll teach you how to have self acceptance, so you can stop judging yourself. I'll help you learn alternatives to the thought patterns that are not working for you and keep you stuck. We will explore the emotions in which you struggle and what is feeding them, so you can feel empowered to change the things you'd like. I'm direct, honest, and transparent. I don't leave you in the dark on what I'm thinking and why I ask you the things I do. I will teach you how to live the way you want and to do that without me. That's definitely a challenge that I consider the most important part of working with me as your therapist.
I will listen to you like therapists do, but I will also help guide you to places of understanding that you may not be able to get to on your own. I help you acknowledge your feelings and uncover what's motivating them. This can affect true change in your life as a result. We can discuss your past and the worries of the future, but your work exists in the present. I will work with you to address the feelings you hold at the moment, so you can learn how to process your feelings without me. You have taken a long time to become the person you are today, but it doesn't have to take any longer to get to your true self.
My education, employment, and life experiences have given me an array of tools in which to share with my clients. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology with a minor in Math, and my master's is in Clinical Psychology. I have also spent 12 years working in sales and management for a Fortune 50 company. I know firsthand the stresses we face in a fast-paced work environment and have extensive experience in hiring, staffing, and career development. I am happy to help in those areas of life that cause you strain and am here for career counseling, as well.
I've been a therapist since changing careers 5 years ago. I got my undergraduate and graduate degrees back in 2000 but took a detour working in sales management for 12 years. Knowing that psychotherapy was always my calling, I left in 2012 and began the process of making the drastic career change. It turns out that my experience in management in a fast-paced, stressful environment called on my therapeutic skills more than I imagined and has helped me work with clients today.
